Military Ocean Terminal Concord (MOTCO) Dredging Project, Concord, CA.
The MOTCO Dredging Project, located along Suisun Bay near Concord, CA, supports the Army’s 834th Transportation Battalion, a key munitions and cargo transshipment facility for the Pacific Theater. AGS obtained permits for the Work and Safety Plan (WASP) for USACE. The team obtained badges for project staff, included subconsultants and observed proper health and safety procedures, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations for the site work. The project involved dredging the boat ramp, barge pier, and piers 2, 3, and 4 to specified depths for operational efficiency. AGS conducted a marine geophysical investigation across 166 acres using side-scan sonar to map seafloor objects, and a magnetometer survey to detect buried ferrous objects and potential unexploded ordnances (UXO).
