The International Terminal Phase 2 project encompasses the renovation of the Departures and Arrivals Levels to meet current forecasted international passenger growth and to increase revenue-generating opportunities. In response to COVID-19, a significant portion of the project was temporarily postponed. The project scope includes: providing new, phased consolidated secondary screening, converting the existing immigration area into office space, reconfiguring the baggage recheck counters, providing new exit lane technology, and upgrading airport services to support passenger hospitality and processing.

The arrivals level work includes Federal Inspection Services improvements to support international arrivals at Boarding Area B and the conversion of the Claim Unit from domestic to international.

The departures level work includes expansion of Boarding Area screening checkpoints, enabling work for duty-free concessions, hold room improvements, and restroom expansion.

The project site is located within the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Inspection Service area and therefore must remain fully operational during the course of the project

AGS was awarded the prime contract for Project Management Support Services in June of 2020. The firm's services will extend through all phases of the project, from the Pre-Programming Phase to the Closeout Phase. AGS provides daily coordination and oversight of the Design-Build contract for the International Terminal Phase 2. In conformance with SFO requirements, AGS utilizes Unifier© software as the Project Construction Controls System for this Contract. Our team provides weekly and monthly project Progress Reports, related to both schedule and budget.

Project Control services during the Design and Construction phases: The AGS Project Manager is on-site daily, responding to unforeseen issues which arise in the field and which are critically tied to the project schedule. These issues are reported immediately to the Construction Contractor and reviewed with AGS’ project Scheduler, to ascertain if there is any potential impact on the project timetable, and if so, what potential adjustments can be made.
