AGS was responsible for geotechnical engineering support services including calculations, drawings, specifications and cost estimates. Geotechnical services involved airport facilities including but not limited to the following project types: runways, taxiways, roadways, boarding areas, vehicle service roads, infield areas, parking lots, viaducts, elevated roadways and garages. The firm provided CSO support at the planning, design, development and construction support phase with involvement of all disciplines necessary to execute a given scope including permit and approval processes.
General tasks included underground studies, field exploration, verification of existing conditions, design drawings, design/constructability reviews, QA/QC reviews of plans and specifications, technical specification preparation and review, calculations, specifications, cost estimates, code evaluations/analyses and geotechnical reports. Geotechnical engineering tasks included subsurface soil and groundwater investigations and laboratory testing; review of previous geotechnical reports; technical memos, reports, and recommendations; and consultation with structural designers and other geotechnical consultants. Recommendation for foundation design, slope stability, settlement analysis and seismic data were provided. Specifications for earthwork, foundations and geotechnical instrumentation were prepared as well.
