AGS played a key role in the geotechnical and environmental assessments for the southern four miles of the BART-San Francisco Airport Extension, stretching from Colma to San Francisco Airport. Our team conducted comprehensive field explorations, including borings, cone penetration tests, and geophysical methods, to gather valuable data for the design and construction phases.

Following the geotechnical investigation, AGS also carried out a thorough Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) along a four-mile stretch of the proposed extension, covering areas from South San Francisco to SFIA and Millbrae. We identified potential contamination and performed a Phase II subsurface investigation, involving soil and groundwater sampling to better understand the impact of known contaminant plumes and guide remediation efforts.

These efforts helped ensure a safe and sustainable future for this vital transportation extension.
