Avalon Dublin Station consists of 252 apartment units in 5-level, Type IIIA residential buildings and 362 parking spaces in a 6-level, post-tensioned parking garage structure on approximately 2.9 acres in the Dublin Transit Center. The parcel is currently a paved parking lot adjacent to AvalonBay Dublin Station Phase II and the Dublin BART Transit Station.
The apartment complex is made up of approximately 80 different unit types consisting of a mix of studio, one, two, and three-bedroom units; including lofts of one, two, and three-bedroom units. Public space and amenities included a mail facility, landscaped courtyard, secure bike parking, swimming pool, controlled unit, parking access, and amenity space. This project is certified as LEED Silver.
As a subconsultant to the Project Architect, AGS’ scope includes civil engineering design services for the preparation of the site improvement plans for the proposed project. AGS prepared rough and fine grading, utility, horizontal control, and erosion control plans; storm drainage calculations; Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) amendment documentation, and engineer’s estimate.
AGS coordinated the civil site design with joint trench facilities, existing utility lines, building MEP services, and architecture. New utility services were designed to avoid existing underground lines which were located from record drawings and confirmed via potholing.
