In June 2003, BART completed 8.7 miles of new track and added four new stations to the BART system.

Client: Bay Area Rapid Transit
Location: San Mateo County, CA

The new stations are located in South San Francisco, San Bruno, San Francisco International Airport, and Millbrae.

The project involved design and construction of a selected BART-San Francisco Airport Extension alternative, from Colma to San Francisco Airport. AGS provided geotechnical engineering for at-grade, above-grade, and underground segments of the extension from Colma to SFO.

AGS conducted a geotechnical investigation and prepared a geotechnical data report for the southern four miles of the alignment. The work consisted of a field exploration which included borings, cone penetration tests, geophysical exploration methods, monitoring well installation; lab testing; and report preparation.
